Director Selected for Spider-Man Reboot
Sony Pictures has tapped director Marc Webb, the director of (500) Days of Summer, to helm its upcoming Spider-Man film, following the departure of director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire from the franchise.
Sony has decided on a new direction for the billion-dollar Spider-Man franchise by taking Spider-Man back to his roots as a high school student. James Vanderbilt is preparing a new script, and the film is expected to begin filming later this year for a summer 2011 debut.
Announcement of casting and storyline for the film are pending.
